Color Palettes for the Sage Brand Archetype

To me, the Sage embodies the same energy as a trusted academic library. They feel intelligent and wise and are somewhere that feels as though they have your best interest in mind.

Using colors that help develop this feeling within your audience can improve the ever-so-important relationship that you want to form with them! Each of the following color palettes takes inspiration from different characteristics of the Sage brand archetype: informative and insightful, wise and intentional, and intelligent and truthful.

Informative & Insightful

The Sage brand archetype has the desire and drive to discover new information and insight. They have the ability to connect the dots and pull facets and data together. They usually operate in a fairly structured way, working with a purpose.

Blues and greens are viewed as comforting and relaxing, but also as trustworthy! Using a combination of two gray/blues will help your audience hear your insight for what it is- informative! Next, warm neutral beige gets an upgrade with yellow undertones and add dimension, while crisp white and soft black round out this first palette.

Wise & Intentional

To be wise means to have experience and knowledge in something. This knowledge and experience are developed over time and increase as time goes on. Intention is important to help stay on topic and dedicated to what matters most.

Wisdom is communicated with soft and faded colors- show that these colors have ‘been through the test of time’! Similar to the first palette, a pair of dusty, muted tealy greens contrast two shades of muted warm tans, rich with warm orange undertones. A pale sand and a dark charcoal create opportunities for higher contrast and finalize the combination of colors in this second palette.

Intelligent & Truthful

This archetype is the one of intelligence! They know their stuff and want to help others know their stuff too! Because of this, they need to be truthful to not only themselves but also their clients.

Deep, rich shades of green and leather are used to help show off your smarts and your reliability. A range of soft creamy colors offers a fun alternative to white, while deep burgundy and black bring a depth and sophistication to this color palette.

Any brand with such mature and assured colors must know what they are doing, don’t you think? On a real note, these colors help you activate your Sage brand archetype and connect with the clients of your dreams! Wise tans, intelligent blues and greens, and strong blacks show your audience that they can rely on you for exactly what they are looking for.
